Working with rare wood species carries a profound responsibility. We are fully aware that every natural material has a history, an origin, and a balance , sometimes a fragile one, that must be respected. Even though our annual consumption remains extremely small, it is not without impact. We acknowledge this reality and are committed to reducing it as much as possible.
Rosewoods and pernambuco are currently listed under CITES Appendix II, and ebony may join them in the coming years. European boxwood has also been significantly weakened by the box tree moth, making its supply more delicate. These realities reinforce our commitment to traceability and responsible use. All the woods we work with come from authorized sources, and our entire inventory is legally declared.
We craft accessories designed to last for several generations, because durability is the first form of respect for the resource. We have also discontinued the use of ivory, including fossil ivory, in favor of more responsible materials carefully selected for their stability, aesthetics, and acoustic qualities.
We have also undertaken a research program aimed at developing credible alternatives to threatened species. The results obtained so far are promising and reflect our determination to preserve both our craft and the resources that make it possible.
